SW Ohio. quick check would be to run a hot wire to the valve covers and see if it is working mechanically, if so then it is the more common wiring problem, lots of switches to go thru to work, could possibly be clutch switch, idle speed switch, oil pressure switch, dash switch (es ), etc, then there is fuses ..., I have a detroit series 60 ddec III, my jake brake or cruise control dont work. the cluth switch is working but i have on one cable 3.9 v and the other one. 4.1v am i supposed have power on both cables. and dont have schematics for clutch switch. when i read pro link the. clutch switch dont go on and off when clutch is pressed., I have a cat 13 motor with Jake brake problems. Jake brake does not work in level 1. It does however work in mode 2 and 3. I get the fault 121-06 low/hi retarder. I replaced solenoids, checked power, checked toggle switch. I am lost. That means the driver ideally would know how to safely operate the apparatus even if the Jake Brake was not working, or had failed. Any competent operator would instantly know if the Jake is not working. The noise and the feel are pretty obvious.
