I’ve pulled a number of engines with my 2 ton hoist from HF. The heaviest so far has been an Oldsmobile 455 V8 out of my 1973 GMC MotorHome, probably around 750lbs. Lifted it at full extension (1/2 ton rating). It was a bit stressful but the crane handled it no problem. There’s probably a hefty safety margin in the 2 ton maximum rating.
