1098 posts · Joined 2010. #2 · Feb 9, 2014. I had a 1.8 8th gen was v impressed with the engine, the 9th gen with the same engine gains 2 hp but it's marginally slower on acceleration, (0-62 8.9 v 9.1) the gear ratios are longer, but top speed is up and so is economy.
