Sep 24, 2008 · I have a Bisley Hunter in .44 and a BH in .357 (both SS). I have sighted in loads for both for deer season. The .357 is a XTP 158gr. at 1300fps for 25yrds. and less ranges, and .44 has 260gr. WFNGC at about 1100fps for shots to 50yrds. (my self limit). I'm hunting out of one of those port-a-potty like permanent blinds.

However, with 180gr. cast bullets, the .357 penetrates pretty good. Sectional density tells the tale here.... the heavy .44s/.45s lead the heavy .357s, but not by as much as you'd suspect.
