July 2012. With DS (my first) I was dilated 3 cm at 37 weeks. At 41 weeks I was 5 cm and still didn't go into labor on my own. I was induced due to low amniotic fluid at 41 weeks 1 day. With DD (my second) I was all closed up at 38 weeks and was then induced due to pre-e. I hope early progress means more for you, but it really doesn't matter.

My second kiddo Birth Story:38 weeks 3 days got first membrane sweep, was 1cm dilated, lost mucous plug over several days but no consistent contractions39 weeks 3 days got second membrane sweep, was 2½-3cm dilated, and 60-70% effaced., Dilation has progressed from last week. I chose to do cervical checks I know it doesn’t necessary indicate when birth is coming but I like to know. Last week at 36 weeks I was 1.5 cm 0% effaced and today at 37 weeks I’m 3 cm and 60% effaced so I do feel that is some progress.
