My baby could come tomorrow or in four weeks., A woman is considered to be in the active stage of labor once the cervix dilates to around 5 to 6 cm and contractions begin to get longer, stronger, and closer together., Tomorrow I will be 39 weeks. At my doctors appointment today, she said I still am hardly effaced and not dilated at all. She tried to "force a centimetre" and it hurt so much (still does) and didn't do anything.
